White Plains Man Charged With DWI After Wrong Way Crash

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Westchester County Police charged a White Plains man with driving while intoxicated on Monday morning after he drove the wrong way on an entrance ramp to the Bronx River Parkway in Yonkers and slammed head-on into another car, according to officials.

Hatsuo A. Jefferson, 23, was driving a 1997 Honda Civic on the entrance ramp and hit a woman driving a 2001 Mercedes head-on. Jefferson then allegedly drove around the other vehicle and attempted to flee the scene, police said.

Jefferson allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and driving the wrong way, police said.
