WHITE PLAINS — A 7-year-old girl was touched inappropriately in the toy section of Walmart in White Plains, police said.

The unknown suspect lured the girl, who had wandered away from her mother while shopping around 6:40 p.m., into a recycling room and made inappropriate contact, according to the report. The girl ran away, prompting the suspect to leave the store. The victim returned to her mother and told her what happened.

The girl was not injured, but was taken to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was released the same night.

Police want the public's help to identify the suspect, who they describe as a black male with a medium complexion and medium build, 5-foot 10-inches to 6-feet tall.

If you have information, police ask that you call the Detective Division at 914-422-6200, the duty officer at 914-422-6006 or Fischer directly at 914-557-2388. Calls will be kept confidential.
