WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A man wanted for assault in White Plains was busted in Bronxville after attempting to access a bank account without sufficient information.

A Capital One Bank employee reported a suspicious person to police shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday, July 21 when he attempted to access the account at the Parkway Road branch.

During the subsequent search for the man, officers tracked down 21-year-old Bronx resident John Darbenzio, who had an active arrest warrant that had been issued by the City of White Plains for third-degree assault.

Darbenzio was held at Bronxville Police Headquarters until officers from the White Plains Police Department could respond and take him into custody. Police noted that no crime was committed within the Village of Bronxville.
