Paul Dibiase, 57, aka Carmine Stanzione, and Daniel Dibiase, 55, both of Poughquag, N.Y., and Jason Foskey, 34, of Stormville, N.Y., were charged with robbery and firearms violations, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and face maximum penalties of life in prison, according to a statement released Tuesday by the office of U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
The trio are accused of conspiring to travel from Dutchess County across state lines from 2011 to October 2012 to commit robberies and burglaries, according to the complaint presented in court.
Wearing ski masks, Paul Dibiase and Foskey allegedly tied up homeowners and held them at gunpoint with replica and real firearms before searching their houses and stealing jewelry, silverware and other valuables. Daniel Dibiase allegedly served as the getaway driver.
“The allegations that these three defendants targeted several Westchester communities, in a calculated and premeditated fashion, violently entering homes and systematically ransacking them, taking cash and jewelry, is nothing short of frightening,” Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said.
The three were arrested on I-287 in Westchester on Oct. 18 and taken into state custody. An investigation is ongoing in the case, which is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Benjamin Allee and Ilan Graff and heard by U.S. Magistrate Judge George A. Yanthis.
In addition to the FBI, the Westchester District Attorney's Office and the Westchester Department of Public Safety, New York agencies involved in the case were the Bedford, Harrison and North Castle police departments and the New York State Police.
In Connecticut, the New Canaan, Greenwich and Ridgefield police departments also played a part in the apprehension of the three men.
