65 Ticketed In Westchester Distracted Driving, Move Over Detail

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - New York State Police made two arrests and issued more than 60 tickets in six hours on Tuesday morning as they continue specialized details on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Westchester.

On Tuesday, state police conducted a distracted driving and Move Over Law detail on the parkway, issuing a total of 65 tickets to motorists. Troopers issued 19 tickets to motorists using their cell phone while driving, two for using an electronic device, four for seatbelt violations, six speeding tickets, 25 tickets for Move Over Law violations and nine other citations.

Police said that during the detail, 59-year-old Nanuet resident Rosemary Ganssle was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs, and her 61-year-old passenger, Steve Eiler, of Franklin, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both Ganssle and Eiler were arrested on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh and are due back in court on Tuesday, May 9.
