Virginia Tichenor, 96, Former Secretary To Harry K. Keller In White Plains

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Virginia "Ginny" Tichenor, formerly of Pleasantville, and White Plains, N.Y., died Nov. 12. She was 96.

Tichenor was born in New York City and grew up in Mamaroneck, N.Y., before her mother, aunt (also Ginny), and she moved to White Plains, N.Y. She graduated White Plains High School in 1936. She was married to Arthur Taylor, Jr. She worked in White Plains as a secretary for prominent appraiser, Harry K. Keller for many years. Later, she worked at Altman's Department Store until it closed its doors in the 1980's. She moved to Pleasantville, N.Y., in 1986 when she married Herbert Tichenor.

She is survived by her daughter, Marion Gallas, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert; daughter, Marylin Taylor Visconti; and son, Frederick Taylor.

Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at Kensico Cemetery Chapel in Valhalla, N.Y., by her stepson, Rev. Jay Tichenor, with interment immediately following.
