Silvestro Montenero, 88, White Plains WWII Veteran

Silvestro Montenero

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Silvestro Montenero, of White Plains, died Jan. 5. He was 88.

He was born in New York City to Silvestro and Antonetta Montenero. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Montenero married Gloria Lombardo Sept. 18, 1949, in the Bronx. He worked as a printer at Monte Press Inc. in the Bronx.

Montenero is survived by his wife; two daughters, Barbara (Frank) DeAngelo and Gina (Van) Jorgensen; a son, John (Angela) Montenero; and four grandchildren.

A Mass of the resurrection was celebrated Monday at Sacred Heart Church in Hartsdale. Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home handled arrangements.
