Rocco C. Mondello, 87, Formerly Of White Plains, Owned Plumbing Business

DANBURY, Conn. - Rocco C. Mondello, most recently of Danbury, Conn. and formerly of White Plains, died June 9. He was 87.

Mondello was born Oct. 28, 1925, to Rocco and Sarah (nee Petrosino) Mondello in White Plains. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the SS Bunker Hill. He ran a successful plumbing business in White Plains for many years and even in retirement continued those emergency service calls. He was a member for many years at the Roma AC Club.

Mondello is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Joseph) Adelizzi of New Fairfield, Conn.; brothers, Charles (Terry) Mondello, Nicholas (Carol) Mondello; sister, Ann Ciaramella; sister-in-law, Dolly Mondello; and special friend, Paul Caridi. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (nee Asta) Mondello; brothers, Joseph, Ralph, Frank; and sisters, Jenny Sinistore and Mary Cassolaro.

Calling hours are Wednesday, June 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, White Plains. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh.
