Patricia Hurley, 88, Of White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Patricia Hurley of White Plains died Tuesday, Oct. 16. She was 88.

Born Aug. 17, 1924, in Brooklyn, she worked as a secretary in Manhattan and a stay-at-home mother. She was married to Patrick Hurley, who predeceased her in 1973. In the early 1970s, she took over her husband's gas station. She overcame many challenges in business and life and did so with grace and resilience, her family said.

She is survived by three sons, Mark, Robert and Michael; six grandchildren; and her health aide and companion of seven years, Deita.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church in White Plains. Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains handled arrangements.
