Solomon was born Aug. 22, 1945, in Asmara, Eritrea.
Solomon is survived by his wife, Meklite Ayele; son, Dawit Solomon; sisters, Mizan, Abebech, Menia; brothers, Goithiom and Mekonen; niece, Hanna; and numerous family members.
Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Ave., at South Broadway, White Plains. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford. Interment will follow in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery, Hawthorne.
