PATTERSON, N.J. - Margaret E. Soravilla, a resident of Patterson since 1996, formerly of White Plains, died Sunday, May 11. She was 90.
Soravilla was born March 27, 1924, in White Plains, she was the daughter of Charles J. and Margaret (O'Reilly) Horner. She was a riveter during World War II and worked in a factory that built the Dauntless dive bomber. She worked at Sonotone after the war. After her marriage she lived with her family in White Plains until 1963, when they moved to Mahopac. She was a member of St. John's Church in Pawling.
Soravilla is survived by her husband, Joseph; sons, Michael (Debbie) of Mahopac and Kevin (Pat) of Yorktown Heights; daughter, Margaret Mary McAuliffe (Daniel) of Brewster; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Richard; two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Joshua; brothers, Robert of Mahopac and James of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Charles.
Calling hours are Thursday, May 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 E. Main St., Pawling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Pawling. Burial will follow in Pawling Cemetery.
