June A. Delvalle, 88, Of White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – June A. Delvalle, of White Plains, died on Friday, May 29. She was 88.

Delvalle was born on June 3, 1926, in New York City to Maurice and Beatrice (Fox) Ackerman. She graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.

She worked as an occupational therapist until 1982 and then volunteered at White Plains Hospital Center.

Delvalle appeared in "Who's Who of American Women," "Who's Who In The East," "International Who's Who in Community Service," and "Community Leaders and Noteworthy Americans" from 1977 to 1980.

She is survived by a son, Bruce, daughter Margot Delvalle-Pierro and her husband George, grandchildren Dana Karakowski, Kate Pierro and Jacquelyn Pierro.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh, a son, Kenneth Delvalle; and her brother, Dr. Jerome Ackerman

Visiting hours will be at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, at 2 Maple Ave., at South Broadway in White Plains, on Wednesday, June 3 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral home will hold a funeral service on Thursday at 10 a.m.
