Irvington PD Mourns Loss Of Former Officer Stephen Tilley

IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Stephen James Tilley, 55, of Palm Coast, Fla., a former police officer with the Irvington Police Department, died Friday, Feb. 24.

Born, July 1, 1961, Tilley began his law enforcement career with the Tarrytown Police Department in 1984 and transferred to the Irvington Police Department in 1987. He served as an officer and a detective until he retired in 2002, said Chief Michael Cerone.

His family said Tilley made friends wherever he went, lit up rooms with his smile and never failed to make others laugh.

He is survived by his wife Patti Tilley; his mother, Barbara Tilley; siblings, George, Keith, Jeff, and Lynn, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren; his children, Doug, Benu, Megan, and Michelle; his grandson Richie; his grandchild on the way; and the countless other friends and family member.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, with a memorial service following at 2 p.m. at the Clymer Funeral Home, 39 Old Kings Road North in Palm Coast. 

The family asks that friends honor his memory through donations in his name to the Flagler Humane Society, the Florida Masonic Youth Charity or by sending flowers to his service.
