Helen Murray Short, 91, Formerly Of White Plains

ENGLEWOOD, Fla., - Helen Murray Short of Englewood, formerly of White Plains, N.Y., died Dec. 1. She was 91.

Short was born Nov. 15, 1922, in Carrick-on-Suir, Ireland, to Thomas and Catherine Ryan. She came to the U.S. in 1926 and was educated in White Plains. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was discharged in 1946. She held several positions in the business office of New York Hospital in White Plains, N.Y., and retired with 34 years of service.

Short is survived by her children, Catherine (Charles) Stallings of Foster, R.I., Patricia Ross of Williamsburg, Va., Frances Murray of Yonkers, N.Y., and Michael (Julia) Murray of Newport News, Va.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and brother, Thomas (Doris) Ryan of Sherman, Conn. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, James Ryan; and sister, Kathleen Brader.
