WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Grace "Peeta" Jenkins, a longtime White Plains resident, died Nov. 24. She was 83.
Jenkins was born Aug. 9, 1930, to George and Lillian Mills. For the past 45 years, she worked as a telephone operator at Westchester Community College.
Jenkins is survived by her husband, William "Bobby" Jenkins; daughter, Michelle Jenkins-Parker (Leon); four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and surrogate grandmother to three children. She was predeceased by her siblings, Eva Ivy, Dorothy Whaley, Minnie Walden and Albert Mills.
Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 29 at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 12 p.m., all at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale.
