George Duffey, 69, Former White Plains Postal Worker

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – George E. Duffey, a former White Plains resident, died Dec. 22 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 69.

Duffey was born in 1943 in White Plains, where he lived for more than 67 years before moving to Florida. He was living with his sister, Sheila Cunningham, in Walton, Ky., at the time of his death.

He served in the Navy for four years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in White Plains in 2006. He enjoyed bowling for many years and was an avid fisherman.

Duffey is survived by a sister, a niece and four nephews, as well as their families.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at All Saints Church in Walton. Burial will be held at Kentucky Veterans North in Williamstown, Ky.
