Fahmy was born March 3, 1932, in Tanta, Egypt. After marriage he emigrated with his wife to New York, in 1969. He then worked to obtain a C.P.A. license and became an advisor to many for over 50 years. He was a member of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
Fahmy is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Mona (Laurence) Beyer of Battle Creek, Mich., and Amani (Scott) Jensen of White Plains; brothers, Foad Fahmy and Said Hanna; sister, Juliette Jacob; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Fauzia and Soad Hanna.
Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Virgin Mary and St Demiana Coptic Orthodox Church, 665 North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10603. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 29 from 8 to 10 a.m., with funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Fahmy’s name to Virgin Mary and St Demiana church building fund, 665 North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10603.
