Edward M. Elkin, 73, Of White Plains, Navy Veteran

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Edward M. Elkin of White Plains, formerly of Katonah and Hartsdale, died March 14. He was 73.

Elkin was born March 26, 1939, he was the son of Jules and Rose Greenbaum Elkin of Newburyport, Mass. A graduate of Governor Dummer Academy, Harvard University and New York University School of Medicine, he was a pediatrician and public health physician with the New York State Department of Health until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy and was discharged at the rank of Lt. Commander.

Elkin is survived by his sister, Leah (Arthur) Shavit of Haifa, Israel; daughter, Elena Elkin; son, Joshua (Meryl) Elkin; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Paul Elkin.
