WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Edna Mae Emanuel Adams, a lifetime resident of White Plains, died May 23. He was 94.
Adams was born Sept. 27, 1918, to Edith Francis Emanuel and Leon Arsel Emanuel. She was a graduate of White Plains High School and employed by New York Telephone Co., in various positions, until her retirement. She was a congregant of Bethel Baptist Church and served on the Chancel Choir.
She was a participant of multiple organizations in the following capacities, past District Deputy Grand Lecturer Order of O.E.S, PH, past matron of Bright Hope Chapter #46, past Most Royal Grand commander of the order Cyrene, member of the order of Golden Circle Pentecostal #86, member of the Lady of the Circle of Perfection, past illustrious commander of Elejmal Court #171 daughter of Isis and past District Deputy Grand matron of O.E.S, PH.
Adams is survived by daughters, Gail Robinson and Karen Gadson-Tapp; son, Brian Adams; sisters, Carole Taylor and Brenda Norman; two granddaughters; one grandson; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Luther; and sisters, Dorothy Williams, Emma Durant and Joan Rogers.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 28 at Bethel Baptist Church, 1 Fisher Court, White Plains. The wake will commence at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11 a.m.
