Deacon Wilbert Guthrie, 87, Of White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Deacon Wilbert Guthrie, resident of White Plains Center for Nursing, died February 22. He was 87.

He was born Nov. 15, 1925 to Richard and Eva (Beckford) Guthrie in Westmoreland, Jamaica West Indies.  He graduated from the public schools and then received a Bachelor and Master of Theology Degrees from the International Theological Seminary of California. A carpenter by trade, he was a member of Grace New Life Center C.O.G.O.P. and served as a deacon.

Gurthrie is survived by his wife, Rubie; four sons; a daughter; two step daughters; six grandchildren; brothers; sisters, and others.

Calling hours will be Saturday, March 9 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Church of God of Prophecy, 128 Winthrop Avenue, New Rochelle. Funeral 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla. Arrangements Barney T. McClanahan F.H. Inc.
