DeFonce was born on Sept. 30, 1978 and was a soccer standout at Harrison High School and Syracuse University. She was the Director of Special Events at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla. She formerly worked at Hunter College, the Hudson River Museum, Botanical Gardens and Whitney Museum.
Her passions included gardening, boating and the beach. She was part of MPI and the Delta Gamma Association.
DeFonce is survived by her parents, Michael and Mary; and sisters Erika, Alexandra and Andrea.
Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 10 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, West Harrison. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains. McMahon, Lyon and Hartnett Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
