Cassie Mae Coleman, 98, Of White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Cassie Mae Coleman, a resident of White Plains and Lilesville, N.C., died Wednesday, April 27. She was 98.

She was born July 7,1917, in Anson County, N.C., to the late Jack and Johnsie Spencer.

She worked as a domestic worker for many years.

She is survived by her children, Juanita Mitchell-Scott (Junius), Ronald Mitchell (LaShaun) and Cassie Coleman; her grandchildren, Tawana Mitchell, Michael Scott, Alicia Mitchell, Evan Scott, Tiffani Soto and Shalena Soto; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Montessa Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Coleman; her son John Mitchell Jr.; and her siblings John Davis Spencer, Clevon Spencer, Kinzell Spencer, Thedis Spencer, Bernice Sturdivant, Ceola Liles and Albert Spencer.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, May 4, at 11 a.m. at the Forestville AME Zion Church in Lilesvile, N.C.
