Anthony J. Vumbico, Sr., 94, Of White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Anthony J. Vumbico, Sr. of White Plains and formerly of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and  West Harrison, died Aug. 30. He was 94.

Vumbico was born Nov.11, 1918, to Giuseppe and Teresa (nee Caprifoglio) Vumbico in West Harrison. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Continental Forrest Industries In Stamford, Conn.

Vumbico is survived by his sons, Joseph Vumbico of Hyde Park and Anthony (Michele) Vumbico of New Windsor; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Jean (nee Rappa) Vumbico; sisters, Concetta and Marion.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Our Lady of Mt.Carmel Church, White Plains. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Rye Brook.
