Ann E. Light, 70, Former White Plains Resident

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Ann E. Light -- a Wappingers Falls resident, formerly a longtime resident of White Plains -- died on Wednesday, Feb. 10. She was 70.

Born in Yonkers, Light graduated from Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua and went on to earn her LPN degree. She was a nurse for over 40 years, and worked in Westchester Medical Center (Grasslands Medical), St. Agnes Hospital and later retired from Maryknoll.

She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, spending time with her family, and spoiling her grandkids.

Light is survived by her husband, Richard Light; daughters Lynn (Grueninger) Diaz and her husband Raymond of Wappingers Falls, and Barbara (Grueninger) Chipman and her husband Russell of Brewster, Massachusetts; grandchildren Rory, Maggie and Riley Chipman, and Lea Diaz; brother Roger Lewis and his wife Bobbie; sister Alice Kearins and her companion David Lindquist; aunt and friend Beatrice "Pip" Gambichler; and nephews, a niece and many cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Ryan Chipman; parents Roger Lewis and Mabel ”Molly” Walton; and nephew Steven Kearins.

A celebration of her life will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, in Hopewell Junction.
