WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Amalia DiFilippo of White Plains died Tuesday, Oct. 2. She was 77.
DiFilippo was born Dec. 6, 1934, in Vasto, Italy, to Vincenzo and Maria Giarrocco. The matriarch of her family, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and, most of all, her family. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in White Plains.
She is survived by two children, Tito DiFilippo and Nina (Silvio) Conte; six grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dora; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Mario, in 1973; and a sister, Adelina.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Greenburgh.
