Alberta Clare Buchanan, 88, Of White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Alberta Clare Buchanan of White Plains died Dec. 17. She was 88.

Buchanan was born June 22, 1925, in New York City. She attended Cathedral High School and graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. After her marriage she moved to White Plains where she was active in St. John the Evangelist Parish and School, as well as the Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. She worked in higher education at Manhattanville College, SUNY Purchase, and Pace University Graduate Center, White Plains. Before retiring she also worked at Community Mutual Savings Bank.

Buchanan is survived by her children, Sr. Mary Regina of Belleville, Ill., Bernadette Price of Mahopac, Brian Buchanan of Poughquag, Barbara Buchanan of White Plains; a daughter-in-law; a son-in-law; four grandsons; a great-granddaughter; six nieces and nephews; a grandniece; three grandnephews; and six great grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20 at St. John the Evangelist Church Hamilton Ave., White Plains.
