Air Force Vet, Retired Eastchester Detective Timothy Morris Dies At 70

An Air Force veteran and longtime Eastchester detective has died in Westchester at the age of 70.

Bronxville native Timothy P. Morris died on June 11. He served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970 before joining the Eastchester Police Department on July 1, 1971, through his retirement as a detective on Oct. 8, 1992.

Morris was a “beloved husband of Janine Morris. Father of Timothy, Holly and the late Brian Morris. Dear brother of Carolyn Jensen and Nancy LaRocca. Beloved Uncle to Jamie Morris, Danielle Morris, Frank Morris, Kelly Alwine. Proud cousin to Tom, Richie, Bobby and Nancy Dalton and many nieces, nephews and cousins.”

The family received friends at the Westchester Funeral Home in Eastchester on Thursday, June 14, and he was put to rest at a mass on Friday, June 15 at St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville.

“With deep regret, we announce the passing of retired Det. Timothy Morris,” the Eastchester Police Department posted on Facebook. “Tim will be sorely missed by all - may he rest in peace.”
