WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The White Plains Youth Bureau will distribute 100 new coats to children in need Saturday.

Donated by Webster Bank employees and bank customers, the coats will be given out by Youth Bureau staff from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Eastview Middle School, on 350 Main St.

“The coat drive is a reflection of the goodwill that resides in the City of White Plains,” Mayor Thomas Roach said. “The contributions received by our local businesses and community members have ensured that youth who need one will have a warm coat this winter.”

Several local companies partnered with the Youth Bureau for Saturday's event, including Straight A’s at 180 E. Post Road, which will provide educational activities, and the Microsoft Store in The Westchester, which will bring its latest gaming software. Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, 264 Main St., will provide pizza, and Santa Claus will make an appearance.

Additionally, Gentle Giant, a local moving company, will transport the coats from various Webster Bank branches to the school.

The Youth Bureau also recently organized a holiday drive for three families in need through its Toy Drive Program. The families gave the Youth Bureau wish lists for holiday gifts, then faculty members at Berkeley College in White Plains bought the items.
