White Plains Usta Board Member Osei Named Top Volunteer

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- U.S. Tennis Association Eastern board member Fran Osei was recently named the Professional Tennis Registry's volunteer of the year at the 2015 PTR International Tennis Symposium on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Osei has been a PTR member since 1993.

Osei is the director of tennis for the Ramapo Parks and Recreation Department, as well as manager and tennis director for the Ramapo Tennis &?Swim Facility. She is responsible for multiple tennis facilities, budgets, maintenance, programming and developing staff. 

“I always felt rewarded by being involved in giving back to the sport that I love,” Osei said. “To receive this honor from my peers is a very humbling experience.”

Osei, recently elected the vice president of USTA Eastern, serves on the strategic planning committee, incentive grant committee and chairs the community development committee. She also developed a volunteer board and committees for Eastern’s Southern Region.

She is a former member of the USTA Tennis in the public parks committee, as well as the leadership and learning committee. Osei is a founding member and on the board of directors of the Rockland Tennis &?Education Foundation. She is also a member of the recently installed PTR Women’s Committee. 

In addition, Osei serves her community as a member of the Zoning Board and has raised millions of dollars for Good Samaritan Hospital, where she once worked as a certified critical care nurse.

“The opportunity to give back to my community is a real honor,” Osei said.
