WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A manager at Sears was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny after the White Plains store told police the manager gave away $10,499.94 worth of television sets to friends.
Sears called officers to The Galleria mall Saturday afternoon with Vlady Morisset, 32, of Hillcrest, N.Y., in store security's custody. Sears loss prevention staff told police an associate saw Morisset give two TVs to a customer, who only had a receipt for one TV, on surveillance cameras.
Police reports indicate Morisset gave friends who came to Sears with receipts for one TV, an extra television set. Morisset told officers he didn't know how friends got the receipts, but that his pals didn't pay for the TVs listed on the receipts.
Morisset dished out free TVs on Sept. 27, Oct.8, and Nov. 19., according to police reports.
