WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A few hours after a shooting that injured a man and woman early Friday morning, another man who police said was trying to rob a warehouse was shot in the leg when his gun went off.

The two incidents are not believed to be connected. The first took place around 5 a.m. at 4 Harmon St. when a man was arguing with a couple from outside their window and then shot them. No arrests have been made.

“We know who we are looking for in the Harmon Street shooting and may be the result of a domestic situation,” Public Safety Commission David Chong said.

The suspect shot a 27-year-old woman in the wrist and a 23-year-old man in the forearm, police said. The woman called 911 and both were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The woman remains hospitalized, while the man has been released.

Later just before 8 a.m. police said another shot went off, this time from a man trying to rob a warehouse at 39 Westmoreland Ave., which was previously robbed April of 2013.

Two employees at Freedom Moving Co. were approached and threatened with a gun. During an ensuing fight the suspect’s gun went off, hitting him in the leg and sending him to the hospital. Police would not say whether the employees took possession of the gun or the suspect accidentally shot himself.

“Everyone involved in the Westmoreland shooting are being questioned. At this time no wounds are considered life threatening," Chong said, referring to both incidents Friday.

Det. Lt. Eric Fischer said charges have not been filed as of yet against the suspect from the latter incident as he recovers in the hospital. He said he would face at least robbery charges.
