WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The White Plains Police Benevolent Association invites the city to help finance police bicycling from the Sept. 11 memorial to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. in honor of officers who have died in the line of duty at the 29th Annual Unity Tour Fundraiser.
The March 29 fundraiser will feature raffle prizes, an open bar, PBA apparel and a food spread at the Porter House Bar and Grille. Tickets for the 7 p.m. event cost $50 per person.
White Plains officers will ride to raise awareness about Detective Michael Perry , who suffered a fatal heart attack while chasing a shoplifter in June 2010, the 72 policemen and policewomen who were killed at ground zero and other local officers.
Since its 1997 inception, the Police Unity Tour has raised and donated $10 million for the hall of remembrance at the Washington D.C. Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
Contact Detective Bryan Hembury at (914) 422-6200 to buy tickets.
