White Plains Man Faces Sentencing In Sweepstakes Scam

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A White Plains man who pleaded guilty to bilking an 89-year-old Albany County woman out of nearly $8,000 will be sentenced on Wednesday, Jan. 8, according to Patch.com.

Hope Labeach told the victim he was from Publishers Clearinghouse and that she needed to send him money orders to collect her prize, Patch.com said. 

Labeach faces a maximum of three years in prison, according to Patch.com.
