White Plains Is Ready For Wednesday's Nor'easter

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. ? With a nor'easter forecast to hit New York on Wednesday, White Plains' recovery resources will remain available to residents.

"We're still most definitely in emergency response mode here," said Karen Pasquale of the mayor's office. "Our emergency shelter has been open since last week and it's just going to stay open. All of the different resources that we've put out there, we're just going to keep out there, just because they're still needed."

Power has not been restored to all residents of White Plains, which is the main reason resources are still available.

"We don't have full restoration of power yet, and if there is weather on Wednesday or so of this week, all of the resources are going to be open and available for people," she said.

The resources include emergency shelter at the Community Center and community organizations offering residents hot showers.

Pasquale said White Plains had "no indication" that the nor'easter might interrupt restoration efforts.
