WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains Hospital celebrated the opening of a new lobby Monday morning with a flag-raising ceremony, accompanied by bagpipes, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Contemporary features in the new lobby include 25-foot glass walls, a floating staircase and the Healthy Living Cafe, by New York Hospitality Group and Peter Herrero.
Among those attending the festivities were White Plains Mayor Tom Roach, Hospital President and CEO Susan Fox, Montefiore Health System President & CEO Steven Safyer, and Deputy County Executive Kevin Plunkett spoke to the crowd, and many Westchester business leaders were in attendance.
Fox told the crowd about the ongoing improvements to the hospital that will be debuting soon, including five new Operating Rooms on the third floor, new private rooms and new labor and delivery suites (to debut in the next few months), and a new lab (to open by the end of the year).
