WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Mary Franco of New Canaan has joined White Plains Hospital in a newly created position as executive director of the foundation.

In this role, Franco will oversee fundraising and donor cultivation for the organization, building on existing and new relationships between the hospital and the community.

“Mary will be a wonderful addition to White Plains Hospital,” said Susan Fox, president and CEO of White Plains Hospital. “She will be a vital part of our mission to continue the growth of the Hospital.”

Franco is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience in development, public affairs, government relations and corporate citizenship. Franco was most recently a senior vice president and the executive director of the Foundation for Cape Cod Healthcare in Massachusetts.

Prior to that, she was president of the foundation and vice president of public affairs at Norwalk Hospital for nearly eight years, where she designed and implemented broad-based fundraising operations at the Hospital, raising $82 million dollars during her time there.

In addition to her extensive fundraising experience, Franco brings significant corporate expertise to her new position, having worked at GE Capital managing government and community relations and fund disbursement globally for nearly a decade. She holds a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Merrimack College.

“We are delighted to welcome Mary to White Plains Hospital at such an exciting time,” said Paul Weissman, chairman of the White Plains Hospital Foundation Board.  “With the unprecedented growth and transformation our hospital is undergoing, Mary’s impressive blend of deep expertise in corporate and foundation relations and warm and engaging interpersonal nature make her the ideal candidate to help us achieve our goals for the future.”
