White Plains Galleria Guards Stop Shoplifters

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A White Plains woman, 36, was arrested and charged with stealing a Kardashian bracelet, worth $30, from the Sears department store in the Galleria Mall, according to police reports.

A guard told police he saw her put the bracelet on her wrist while in the women's department on the second floor of the Galleria, then walk out. She was detained by store security until police later took her to headquarters, where she was booked and processed. The Oakwood Avenue resident posted $50 bail.

The same day on the other end of the 100 Main St. mall, a Valhalla woman, 45, was arrested and charged with stealing 13 Ashford shirts worth $29 each for a total of $377.

A guard for Macy's told police he saw the Operations Drive resident stuff all 13 shirts into an empty Dr. Jays shopping bag and attempt to leave the store. She, too, was detained by store security until police later took her to headquarters. She was released on her own recognizance.

Down Main Street, another White Plains woman, 17, was arrested and charged with petit larceny for shoplifting various cosmetics from a display rack in Wal-Mart. A guard told police he saw her take the items and hide them in her bag. She then tried to leave the store, but was stopped and later placed under arrest and taken to headquarters. The Mitchell Place resident posted $100 bail.
