Erik Refvik, 34, posted $25,000 bail after being charged with driving while intoxicated and criminally negligent homicide in connection to the head-on collision that killed Reyda LaMadrid and left her husband, Edgar Lopez, injured, LoHud.com reported.

Police say Refvik drove the wrong way down South Lexington Avenue and collided with LaMadrid's Honda Civic while the couple were delivering newspapers. Refvik then reversed and allegedly slammed into a nearby apartment building, LoHud.com said.

Authorities said Refvik had a blood alcohol content of 0.145 percent. He also had a DWI conviction in 2003, according to LoHud.com.
