A shelter has been opened at Post Road Elementary School on 175 W. Post Road, but no evacuations had been ordered.

Residents going to the shelter should bring with them personal care items, medications and a flashlight. Residents may also want to bring a battery operated portable radio, books and/or magazines, non-perishable snacks, and items to entertain children. Pets, alcohol, and firearms are prohibited.

The city has not closed any roads, but Westchester County has closed the Bronx River Parkway and Bee-Line Bus services have been suspended.
