WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Applications for the White Plains Youth Bureau 4th Annual Culinary Arts Program are being accepted. Only five White Plains residents between the ages of 18-24 will be selected.
The chosen applicants will undergo an eight-week training program where they will learn culinary arts techniques and then gain hands-on experience at paid internships within the White Plains community, a written statement said. The training program, which begins Nov. 26, is being led by professional chef Jeffrey Vaden, who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America.
Several of its graduates have taken jobs in the culinary field or have decided to pursue a culinary education, said the written statement. One graduate, Justin Herring, is currently working at Westchester Country Club full-time as a kitchen chef and another, Anthony Pasqualini, is currently enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.
