The award will be presented by the Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC), at its annual Women’s Business Networking Event, to be held Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Graziella’s Italian Bistro.
Venturi, who has served as president of the Westchester WEDC for three years, is a co-founder and managing partner of AMBAR Realty Group, LLC - a commercial real estate firm specializing in global tenant representation, and account management for corporations.
Venturi believes that women can benefit from her counseling if they own a business, no matter how good they might be at their trade.
"If you don't understand how to run the business financially from an HR side, or a legal side with the right type of incorporation and financing," she said, "That can cause you, as good as you may be at your profession, not to be successful as a entrepreneur."
She added that the WEDC offers programs that allow women to be educated in those areas and grow with further consulting advice.
"It's a great place where they know they have support," she said.
Venturi is also involved with the YWCA and Girls Inc., teaching financial responsibility and business savvy to young and high school-age women.
The WEDC Women's Networking Event is open to the public and will be featuring guest speaker Wokie Nwabueze, who will speak on “Courageous Communication,” encouraging women entrepreneurs to speak without fear, ask for what they want and set boundaries in business.
Tickets to WEDC's 15th Annual Women's Business Networking Event are $55 each and include parking, a light buffet, and wine. Proceeds from this event will be used to support programs and services to help emerging women-owned businesses
