WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – All government offices and buildings and the post office will be open Monday, New Year's Eve, but closed Tuesday, New Year's Day.

The White Plains Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, closing eight hours earlier than usual. It will be closed all day Tuesday.

With all government buildings open Monday, garbage will be collected as usual for residents on the Monday-Thursday pickup schedule. However, those on the Tuesday and Friday schedule will have their garbage collected Wednesday and Friday.
