What's on the Agenda in White Plains

WHITE, PLAINS, N.Y -- The local government has a busy week ahead. Here's a look at what's being discussed:

- The Common Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall. Residents are invited to comment on Councilman David Buchwald's proposal to strengthen the city's Code of Ethics at a public hearing. The council will also consider resident feedback on a plan to create parks out of approximately 5.7 acres of city-owned land. A vote will decide whether the city decides to authorize a $90,000 contract with a law firm to help Corporate Counsel John Callahan negotiate a renewal agreement with a cable franchise. The Common Council will also vote to ratify new agreements with the Civil Employees Association, Inc., Local 1000, AFSCME and the AFL-CIO's White Plains chapter.
