WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - It's going to be a brisk week at White Plains City Hall. Here's a look at what's being discussed:
- The Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at 5 Homeside Ln.
- The Conservation Board will convene at 8 p.m. Monday in the council chambers. The board will discuss Westchester Church of Christ's special permit request to add a two-story, 17,000-square foot addition for its planned sanctuary, classrooms, and nursery. Metropolitan Plaza's hotel on Main Street, which has already begun construction, will have its plans reviewed. The board will also consider the Common Council's proposal to turn five city-owned plots into parks and the French-American School of New York's permit to construct a private school on the former Ridgeway Country Club property. - The Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall. The board will hold a public hearing on John Valera's and Bartolomeo Scalici's application to build 10 townhouses where Holland Avenue meets North Broadway, which is an environmentally sensitive site. The public is also invited to comment on David Mann's application for a multi-family building at 17 to 19 Dekalb Ave. and Doris Sassower's plan to run a bed and breakfast out of her 283 Soundview Ave. home. - The Traffic Commission will assemble at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the council chambers. The commission will consider a request for a four-way stop at the intersection of Overland Road and Bryant Avenue. The commission will also discuss a request from the Department of Public Works that meters and a bus stop be moved from in front of where the Bengal Tiger restaurant used to be to allow workers to construct a driveway.
