Friday, June 1
City Pools Open : 12 to 6:30 p.m. The city's Gardella and Kittrel Park Pools open for the summer season Friday. Regular hours will be noon to 6:30 p.m., and each pool has one night per week when it stays open an hour later. The Kittrel Pool's late night is Wednesdays and the Gardella Pool's is Thursdays. The Gardella Pool, on Ferris Avenue, will be open a day early to help residents cool off from the heat wave. A proof of residency is required. Kittrel Park Pool, 120 Fisher Avenue
Fun With Toddlers - "Blooming Flowers" : 1 to 1:30 p.m. With songs, games, activities and stories for children, this event is for 20 to 29-months-old with caregivers. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.
Faust Harrison Pianos Presents Takeshi Asai : 8 to 10 p.m. New York-based Jazz pianist and composer Takeshi Asai holds a concert to celebrate the release of his new CD A Tale of Three Cities, featuring live recordings of his latest tour in France, Japan and New York. "Party Worth Crashing" : 8 p.m. This production is the third in the New Musical Theater Series at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. "Party Worth Crashing" follows the lives of nine 20-somethings from the eve of their college graduation to an engagement party two years later where raw emotions are ignited, embedded feelings unearthed and dramatic consequences abound. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $23, and $17 for students and be found online or by calling the box office - 914-328-1600. Saturday, June 23
Toy Time With Trucks : 1 to 4 p.m. Independent playtime with special Trove (children's room) toys for parents and young children. Join your child in imaginary play during Truck Days. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.
Sunday, June 24
Bicycle Sundays : 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A section of the Bronx River Parkway is closed to cars for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters and strollers. The 13.1 mile round-trip starts at the Westchester County Center in White Plains and goes south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers. Participants can enter and exit through many different parts of the route.
Ahmad Rashad Golf Classic : 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Celebrities from the world of sports are expected to attend the opening reception for the Ahmad Rashad Golf Classic Monday at the Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale. The event, benefiting the White Plains Hospital, will feature sportscasters Bob Costas and Jay Harris, former football player O.J. Anderson, five-time NBA champion Ron Harper, baseball players David Justice and Ken Griffey Jr., Knicks coaches Mike Woodson, Herb Williams and Darrell Walker, R&B singer Brian McKnight, winner of NBC's "The Voice" Javier Colon.
