Friday, June 15

Summer Reading Kickoff : 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The White Plains City School District's Elementary Schools Summer Reading Kick-Off will feature 9-year old author Carrie Berk, who will sign copies of her book, "The Cupcake Club." Kids will be able to decorate and enjoy cupcakes, and books will be raffled off. Barnes & Noble City Center, 230 Main St.

Saturday, June 16

Fatherhood Olympics : 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The second annual Fatherhood Olympics, part of the Youth Bureau's Fatherhood Initiative, gives fathers and their children a chance to celebrate Father's Day early by coming together to play tennis, basketball, softball, golf, track and field games and more. Track and field area of Eastview Middle School, 350 Main St.

"Do Something Reel" Film Festival : 5 p.m. Whole Foods Market will hold a free moving screening of " Queen of the Sun ," the featured film in its June online film festival. Whole Foods Market, 100 Bloomingdale Road.

Sunday, June 17

Bicycle Sundays : 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A section of the Bronx River Parkway is closed to cars for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters and strollers. The 13.1-mile round trip starts at the Westchester County Center in White Plains and goes south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers. Participants can enter and exit through many different parts of the route.

Trove @ the Movies : 2 to 4:15 p.m. The White Plains Library children's room, known as the Trove, will screen "HUGO," directed by Martin Scorsese and based on the Caldecott Award-winning novel by Brian Selznick. Join this magical world of mystery, secrets and thrilling adventure set in 1930s Paris. Rated PG (mild thematic material, some action/peril and smoking). White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.

Father's Day Concert : 7 p.m. Families can celebrate Father's Day with a free concert in Turnure Park featuring a tribute to Earth Wind & Fire. The rain date is Monday. Turnure Park, 26 Lake St.
