This year's Super Bowl, set for Sunday, Feb. 2 at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

Astorino joined the band members and their director and coach Terrel Stowers at their home base, St. Christopher's Clark Academy in Dobbs Ferry where the county executive presented the students with a special proclamation from the county.

"We have been preparing for the Super Bowl with extras practice sessions, making sure we're in shape and excited to be representing the county and the school," Stowers said. "This is the ultimate thrill for us. We are ready."

The 70-piece Cobras band will participate in the NFL Experience Parade on Wednesday, Jan. 29 in a march up Broadway from 33rd Street to 43rd Street, leading the Super Bowl champion's Vince Lombardi trophy.

Astorino presented the proclamation and told the Cobras that he was proud to know the band was representing Westchester.

"The best two teams in the NFL will be playing and you are our Super Band," Astorino said. "We're all proud of all your work and your school."

Drummer/cymbalist and line leader Isaiah Williams, who played football as a youngster before converting to performance marching band, said he and his band mates were ready for the the spotlight.

"This is the Super Bowl and everyone -- family, friends, the whole country -- is going to be watching," the 16-year-old said. "We are proud to have this chance to perform. This is an honor and we have worked very hard to prepare."

Williams said the band has been running, marching, practicing its moves and even rehearsing in cold and wet weather.

"I like the cold more than the heat," Williams said. "I have my line out there in freezing temperatures getting ready. The most important thing is to be prepared -- have our steps accurate and on point. This is our Super Bowl too."
