WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – A meteor shower will kick off Memorial Day weekend starting tonight and moving into Saturday.

CNN reports forecasts of the shower, Camelopardalids, show 200 to 1,000 meteors an hour between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Eastern time on Saturday morning.

NASA's website will host a live chat from 11 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Eastern time Saturday, and will offer a live view of the skies over Huntsville, Ala.

This is the first time in nearly a generation that a new shower has shown up.
