Westchester Native Don McLean Speaks Out About Domestic Violence Charge

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – New Rochelle native and singer-songwriter Don McLean says he fears he will never recover after his recent domestic violence arrest, according to a report in The Daily News.

McLean, 70, who is best-known for his 1971 album “American Pie,” was taken into police custody Monday after his 56-year-old wife, Patrisha, alleged in a petition for a restraining order that he had assaulted her in their Camden, Maine, home, the Daily News reported.

The famed folk singer tweeted Thursday that his family had been going through some tough times, but that he was not a villain, the Daily News story said.
