An anonymous source said Jenner, 65 and a former student at Sleepy Hollow High School, will soon be living life as a female, though the magazine did not specify where along the transgender spectrum -- from transvestism to surgical sex-reassignment -- he will fall.

Jenner has been making changes gradually, according to a source, so as to not shock his family. Jenner's family is allowing Jenner to transition at his own pace, the story said.

Jenner won the gold medal in the decathlon in the 1976 Summer Games in Montreal. He has had a career in television, and married his wife, Kris, in 1991. Kris Jenner filed for divorce in September.

His family includes fellow reality-TV stars and stepdaughers Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian, and stepson Rob Kardashian. Other family members are his son Burt, 36, and daughter Cassandra, 34, with first wife Chrystie Crownover; sons Brandon, 33, and Sam Brody, known as Brody, 31, with second wife Linda Thompson; and daughters Kendall, 19, and Kylie, 17.

People could not reach Jenner for comment.

Kim Kardasian told "Entertainment Tonight" last week, "I think everyone goes through things in life, and I think that story and what Bruce is going through, I think he'll share whenever the time is right," adding, "I feel like that's his journey to talk about."
